A Brave New (Blogging) World

I began blogging in mid-2008, many moons ago now, seemingly a lifetime ago. My blogging has taken many forms: as Little Miss Emma, as Cinderella at Brindabella, as The Happy Campers, and now at (hopefully) the ‘forever home’, She Sows Seeds. Blogging has always come easily for me, the day that it doesn’t is perhaps the day to stop. Of course, there’s always writers block, of course there’s always days where I wonder what on Earth I could possibly write about that would be of any worth. There’s always that. You go through peaks and troughs as a blogger, that’s part of the creative process. But when it becomes a chore, then it’s probably question time. That time has not yet come (don’t worry!) and I think it won’t anytime soon as She Sows Seeds grows and evolves with me, with our little family and life here in our little farmhouse.

But as She Sows Seeds grows, new opportunities are coming my way, opportunities which I have thought long and hard about. Blogging takes up a significant chunk of my time, time which is very precious these days as I navigate early mamahood as well as returning to work. If I can provide for my family even in the smallest way through my little piece of the internet here, then I will. Of course blogging has always been ‘worthwhile’ through my eyes, but now and in the future, I’m hoping it could be more ‘worthy’ in a financial sense. Growth and evolution of She Sows Seeds has always been a goal.

And so, I am offering advertising for the first time. Over there in the sidebar you will see advertisements from time to time – I will only work with businesses who I feel are a ‘good fit’ for She Sows Seeds, people whose work I truly believe in, products I have actually used and endorse or small businesses I try to support. If you would like to advertise on She Sows Seeds please contact me, rates are very reasonable in these early days considering the scope of my readership and upcoming Christmas period.

As well as advertising, from time to time I may take part in a sponsored content post. This will always be clearly stated. I am not interested in ‘subtly’ advertising products or brands under a vague disguise of pushing someone’s barrow. That’s not what I want this space to ever be about. If I work with a brand or company, I will let you know. Transparency and honesty is key in this new world of blogging, that much I know.
