There’s somebody we would like you to meet…
Our baby ‘sprout’ came into the world last week – in quite the hurry, and on her due date. Her. A girl. Now we have two beautiful daughters to call our own, sisters to be best friends and grow and laugh and learn together. I’m so very happy that our Eleanor will know the awesome love and companionship of a sister.

Welcome Harriet – just as sweet as your big sister, with peach fuzz dark hair (which will no doubt turn blonde like your sisters), long fingers just like Mummy’s, olive skin just like Daddy’s and carrying your great-grandmother’s name, also like your sister. You are similar to Eleanor, but different all at once. You are Harriet, and you are so very loved baby girl. I can’t wait to see the little person you will become, there are so many unanswered questions at the moment: will you be placid and easy going like your big sister? Will you rock our worlds and be entirely different? Whatever the case I can’t wait to discover all that is Harriet – just the way you are. The world is waiting for you baby girl, but for now we will keep you close and snug and warm by the fire in our cosy farmhouse on the hill, hibernating these golden days away getting to know you and this brave new world as a Mother of two.
Two gorgeous girls. I am the Mother of girls. Plural. It’s true: my heart just expanded overnight to fit you in, like everyone said it would. How were you never there to begin with though? But perhaps you always were. Our little peach Harriet Gwen.
I will be absent from the blogosphere whilst getting to know my new daughter, my role as a Mother of two now and all that this new adventure has in store for us as a little family. Thank-you for all your beautiful thoughts, prayers and well wishes we have received on Facebook and Instagram. Our hearts are full to bursting.

Congrartulations! I have just stumbled over your blog through a friend. It’s delightful, you have wonderful style and taste. I also have just given birth to a little Harriet (19-6-16) at the same hospital too it seems. It’s such a beautiful old name, as is your Elanore. All the very best with your new little one x

Oh the midwives said there was another little Harriet not long ago! Hope she’s settling in well.

She’s is settling well thank you. Though today she’s been very awake and snuggly, only wanted her mummy.
Harriet isn’t such a common name and one of the reasons we chose it. So many beautiful names to pick from but being a teacher I wanted something I’d not taught before and something a bit more old fashioned (like everything else in my world). How nice the midwives remembered my little Harriet (although we did have a little extended stay due to jaundice). Hope you’re getting some sleep between your two.
All the best x

She is just adorable…congratulations to the both of you…..you’ll more than likely find even though there is more work with two (one being a toddler….) you’ll breeze into the motherhood role for her….because it’s familiar and you have established routines….each baby is different but you’ve paved the way for the 2nd….love the crochet rug and beanie and she looks so tiny…you forget how tiny new born babies are until you see them against a little toddler….rest up and enjoy being a Mum.
