You may (or may not) have been following our adventures in renovating our bedroom over on my Instagram account (#brindabellabedroombliz #operationbrindabellawardrobe). That’s a whhhhoooooollle other post in the making, but (very) long story short: we’re back in our bedroom after spending seven weeks sleeping on the sunroom floor. To say we’re delighted to have some space back in our already cramped teeny farmhouse would be an understatement. Now Eleanor’s baby crap paraphernalia doesn’t have to be right in front of the TV (she was becoming telly obsessed – eeek!) Plans are to make the sunroom a playroom of sorts. Ah, let the Pinterest perusing begin…
With the mild summer we’ve been having I didn’t think my tomatoes were ever going to turn red – a bumper crop of green tommies for sure, just waiting for some warmer days…which we got this week thankfully so now they’re coming in off the bushes thick and fast! Silly weather has made my zucchini’s grow a bit funny though, and the pumpkins are growing, but no sign of an actual pumpkin yet.
Let’s not talk about the chickens who haven’t laid an egg in over a week… I fear your days are numbered ladies. Cost of production sums are simply not adding up, the amount of ‘layer’ pellets you eat. Fat lot of good they do. Hmph. I’ve had to buy eggs this week – the horror!!!
There are only some ridiculous number of days to go until our tiny little community’s big comeback Potato Festival – the first in 12 years, a little group got together and thought we should most definitely revive it. It all seemed like a good idea at the time! Now we’ve got committee and community meetings coming out our eyeballs and monster to-do lists, but we’ll get there. Just keep swimming…
Anybody else on committees for small town events?
Contemplating your chookies futures?
Got red tommies yet?
Want to buy a raffle ticket or ten?!

The Chinchilla Melon Festival was an absolute cracker on the weekend. It was enormous, fun, crazy, hot and exhausting!

I won’t mention that we are getting 9 eggs a day at the moment then…. 🙂
