Wait a minute…that’s not a photo of cattle or cushions or crochet or cooking…
This week I’m in the big smoke! I’m holding the fort for my sister’s family in Melbourne while her and her husband work interstate and attend a wedding. The six year old has school starting and violin lessons, the four year old is demanding play dough and tea parties and the toddler just wants to attack the dog. Fun times.
When the SOS call went out to solo-pseudo-parent my three nieces for a week, I put my hand up. Call me crazy (I probably am) but I know that my sister would do the same for me one day in a heart beat if she were in the position to. And these chickadees just grow so fast, and now we’re so far away, getting to hang out with them for a week is pretty cool. What’s not cool is Violet crying incessantly for ‘maaaamaaaa’ and looking at the door utterly confused, Ava’s snoring and stubborn mule-like behaviour or Scarlett’s tangled Rapunzel hair and melodramatics. A week here may be just the baby suppressant my husband has been looking for.
I might not be back in blogging mode until next week, so until then we’ve got some important scooting to do…

Good luck with those 3 Emma…….that would be hard for the real mumma let alone the Aunty however you can escape back to the country in 7 days and 7 nights!!!! I’m sure you will take lots of cool photos of them even if their hair isn’t brushed. There you go… A Week in the Life of an Aunty…….. I can see a little 20 page photobook around the corner for you. Have fun…you’ll be on your toes. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia
