// Eleanor’s first bath in hospital, safe in Daddy’s arms.
// Speaking of that amazing man, he has been washing and cleaning like a champion – although nothing overly new there! I think Eleanor and I will keep him. He keeps our wheelbarrow full of firewood, our home warm and days clear of clutter and chaos, all whilst still going off to work amidst the end of financial year busyness. He is also the supreme wrapper of our little burrito baby, ain’t no arms getting out of Daddy’s angel wrap!
// Finally, there is a tinge of something – be it blue or pink – entering the totally unisex neutral nursery. Pretty florals and prancing ponies. Yes!
– 5 // Eleanor’s spoils have been arriving in a steady stream – girly rattles and the sweetest of Jemima Puddleduck’s. Lucky girl. So much prayer of praise and gratitude in my life in the last week – thanking God for our girl, the ultimate blessing, for bringing her into the world safely, for guiding us through those long nights and for continuing to give us strength when we need it most.
// Those lips. That skin. Her hair. I sit and stare a lot. Sometimes I cry. Always tears of joy though. I’ve imagined for so long what our child would look like, and she is exactly as I imagined, it’s like I’ve known that face all along.
// The peachy fluffy bonnet I made which I was sure would be stuffed into my newborn props stash, and the most gorgeous antique doily from my dear friend’s collection of her great-grandmothers. What a precious gift – I will have to do something extra special with it for Miss Eleanor.
// Our home looks and smells like a florist shop and I love it! Sadly with the fire roaring so much they won’t last long…
// Catching some rays in the sunroom. Eleanor in her daddy’s family heirloom bassinet, I never want her to outgrow it but know it’s only going to be fleeting for our chubby blossom!
// Eggs galore from Ruby Hills – yay! Our fridge and freezer is chock full of meals and food from generous souls, we will not go hungry anytime soon!
