Taking Stock: The Sickly Edition

October 8, 2015 by Emma

On the weekend, while we were away from home visiting our besties in the Northern Oasis, Eleanor had one of those nights I’d heard about from other parents… The Vomiting. Capitals needed. Oh the vomit. Make it stop. Never before, and dear God I pray never again (but probably wishful thinking there). Since then Matt came down with it…then me…now my mum! Sorry Grandi…

So, in lieu of coherent blogging. I give you this instead… Blergh!

Taking Stock | She Sows Seeds

Making: baby crochet bits and bobs, the stork has been busy amongst my friends and family
Cooking: toast, not much food consumption going on in this house!
Drinking: water, even though I don’t want to, I know re-hydration is key
Reading: a country gardening book I pinched off my mum’s shelves
Wanting: to see my tomato seeds germinate
Looking: towards Christmas, 11 weeks people!
Playing: endless games of ‘build it up, built it up, build it hiiiiigh’ with the Duplo
Deciding: on whether a small-ish island bench in our kitchen would take up too much space
Wishing: we had a bigger house…
Enjoying: our cosy little farmhouse, simple small space living wins
Waiting: for this queasiness to pass
Liking: this dress, if I ever had an occasion to wear such a dress…
Wondering: if Matt’s poor (clearly dead) jacaranda tree will ever ‘live’ like he swears it will
Loving: all the eggs my hennies are laying
Pondering: what I should be doing whilst Eleanor’s asleep instead of this
Considering: making my sister-in-law a sponge birthday cake with all those eggs
Buying: another Summer weight sleeping bag for Eleanor
Watching: The Block! We’re obsessed! Are you?
Hoping: that health and order is restored to my little family soon
Marveling: at this glorious Spring weather and all that it brings
Cringing: at The Celebrity Apprentice, which is unfortunately on after The Block. Oh. Dear. God…
Needing: people to stop asking about pregnancy/babies
Questioning: cushion choices for our bed, big issues, big issues…
Smelling: popcorn I made for Eleanor, which she seems neither here nor there about
Wearing: far too many layers for this sunny day
Following: Humans of New York’s brilliant work on the Syrian refugee crisis, compelling, important
Noticing: the different times our trees bloom and leaf up again, all different, slow and steady
Knowing: that Eleanor will one day walk…maybe
Thinking: about what I’m going to wear on Saturday to the Little Blog Big workshop
Admiring: Matt’s work ethic, despite it driving me bonkers
Sorting: through a big bag of clothes from big cousin Violet, sizes 2-5: sorted
Getting: lots of spring onions, silverbeet and rocket from the garden still
Bookmarking: Christmas gift ideas
Coveting: this kaftan for Eleanor for Summer
Disliking: all the Instagram spammers tagging me in their rubbish
Opening: bank statements, yawn. I’m on an online shopping ban, depressing, necessary
Giggling: at Eleanor not understanding Tessa’s inability to return a ball
Feeling: still queasy…
Snacking: on cranberries and dried apricots
Helping: Eleanor learn to walk holding my hands, which I’m in two minds about
Hearing: all the baa’s, lambs and ewes around our house, all the baa’s

Hope the queasiness goes soon. I’d love to here how you like Little Blog Big. Was thinking about the Canberra workshop in November. P.S. I love your gift guides 🙂

    Sending well wished to you!

Now, slightly off-topic, will you be doing a little Christmas gift “wish list” for Eleanor on the blog? We have a 12 month old and I’d love some inspiration! She also has no interest in walking 😉

Hi Georgina – a few have commented they don’t like my gift guides (ha!) so wasn’t planning on doing much for Christmas, if anything…but now you’ve got me thinking… I think I’ll do one for Eleanor, previously I’ve done them for men/women/toddlers/newborns/teens etc.

Thank you, Emma! I find it surprising that people aren’t that into them, but whatever… I suppose, pre-baby, I only had a slight interest but now that I’m shopping for a similarly-aged little miss I *need* to know what Eleanor’s getting to help me out! I do have some ideas already but a little more inspo surely can’t hurt 😉
