I seemed to have flipped the calendar over here in the farmhouse kitchen…and it’s Autumn! Just like that. Gosh, hardly much of a Summer was it?! In fact, this morning poor Eleanor woke extra early (very unlike her) as it was 11 degrees in her bedroom. I think I can count on one hand the nights she has gone to bed in anything but a long sleeved and footed cozy jumpsuit. A Winter blossom through and through, loves to be warm, just like her Mama.
The ‘Wearing’ series I blog here seasonally I decided should most definitely include Eleanor now – obviously! If there’s one thing I love more than shopping for myself, it’s for my little girl. Although she is very blessed with a whole wardrobe from her older girl cousins (we’re very lucky to have boxes and boxes of clothes for years to come!) I do like to get her a few special key pieces every now and then. I’ve got the ‘Harlow’ jacket on order and hoping it will be our go-to jacket throughout Winter with a 1 year old (!!!!!!!) The tutu leggings I also couldn’t resist and are already in Eleanor’s wardrobe, although as per usual they struggle over her cloth nappy big bum yet are far too long in the leg, she’s short legged like me I’m afraid. Seeing as though I don’t spend very much on Eleanor for clothes, every now and then I splurge on a ‘special’ item as I feel I can (or so I tell myself my husband). We were lucky enough to be the recipient of some lovely tan leather moccasins when I was pregnant, but have since worn and worn them and now outgrown them. Some pink bow ones to grow into were on the cards. Perfect for Eleanor, who hates putting any weight on her feet under any circumstances, so I see soft soled shoes in our future for awhile yet!
And for me? Well, a poncho of course! This one from Country Road I saw in the flesh last week on a flying Melbourne visit and loved. Do you think I could pull it off? Finally got my mitts on some Intimo leggings too (my sister is a stylist, I’m all Intimo-ed up!)Β I am considering a new bag other than my enormous Kate Hill nappy bag, which has served me well in the early baby days and really is a great crossover/not looking like a nappy bag, but now I think we’re ready to graduate to a bag that doesn’t need the kitchen sink in it. And lastly, soft cozy handknits to keep me warm (I’m always cold) is what I’d like to be wrapped in this Autumn. How about you? Better get Grandi on the knitting needles and my fingers on the end of a crochet hook!
Still toting around a kitchen-sink-esque nappy bag?
Discovered Intimo?
Got a little miss to dress?
Isn’t it fun?!

We too have PILES of hand-me-downs for little Joan from friends with older girls. I confess that I haven’t actually bought her a single item of clothing yet – not knowing what we were having kept me in check while I was pregnant. But now, oh all those heavenly little things I can buy!
Just have to get brave enough to try and leave the house with her…

Oh and they grow SO quickly! I know everyone says that but you really don’t ‘get’ it until you have a little mushroom growing baby! Eleanor has sadly hardly worn some things as she’s in the next size by the time I remember! She’s a size 0 now, heading for a size 1 π I remember fretting about taking the baby out, especially solo without Matt, now looking back it’s so funny, things you worry about when they were sleepy newborns you only realise later were totally easy compared to bigger baby stuff! π Good luck!

dressing little girls is so much fun….the 10 year old is quite forlorn that the likes of target think little girls that are size 10-12-14 don’t like ‘pretty stuff’ still – its all grungy and short shorts π
I think you can wear the poncho, I however would look like I were wearing the throw rug off the couch I reckon! am not of the correct build…

So so fun!! I love dressing my little girl. And I love your choices for this autumn. I can’t wait to rug up again! And yes still toting a huge bag, but I love it so that’s probably why. But, I haven’t heard of intimo. Might have to Google it!
