Amidst the Christmas crazy lead-up and the morning sickness, it seems I have forgotten to do a ‘wearing’ post for Summer. Better late than never…
Scarf | Singlet | Sunglasses | Maxi dress | Bag | Bathers | Necklace | Towel | Shorts | Sandals
My usual summer wardrobe is my trusty denim shorts (these ones from Jeanswest, perfect length and colour, not too short, not too dark, super comfy) with a plain coloured singlet top. Let’s just say my favourite shorts are getting a bit tight these days, although I’m still wearing them like a uniform just to hold on as long as I can! Lucky for me elastic waisted shorts and pants in pretty prints seem to be all the rage. Usually my Havaianas are part of the summer wardrobe as well, but since a dog ate them in Papua New Guinea I’ve been converted to my gold saltwater sandals – Country Road have some great metallic sandals too.
Long, flowing maxi skirts and dresses are going to be my wardrobe staple I think, great for summer trips to the beach over bathers with a Turkish towel in a practical big beach bag. Am loving orange and navy at the moment, and have long admired lots of one piece wonders, perhaps this year is the year to embrace them? I also love scarves for Summer, light loose cotton or silk ones, not just for Winter wear. I spied this rope braid necklace on Etsy recently and was pleasantly surprised to find they are made by a Melbourne artist – love finding local Etsy talent.
What will you be wearing this Summer?

‘Wearing’ is a seasonal fashion post featuring clothing and accessories all available to be purchased online in Australia. Because that’s how I like to shop.

My best (and most loved) pre summer purchase were a handful of colourful turkish towels. They are used daily- as a light throw for those cool mornings on the couch, water play outside in the back yard, sarong for an unorganised Mummy, and they make a great picnic rug or tablecloth! Kx

I’m loving my dotty button up blouse. It’s sleeveless which is nice and cool and the button up is fabulous while I’m breastfeeding. It’s a new experience when practicality outweighs fashion isn’t it? Fortunately there’s lots of lovely options around so we don’t have to sacrifice one for the other. 🙂
