Work, Lately

February 10, 2014 by Emma

Amongst the packing, the moving, the decision maker, the baby growing… I’ve been working. Actually, I’ve been really working my little tail off – family sessions, commercial work, a few weddings just for good measure. Over the weekend we traveled over 1470km, we took a packed car, ute, camper and trailer home to Gippsland, I worked 14 hours on my feet on Saturday at our beautifully glowing cousin Jyoti’s wedding, we drove the 8 hours back across the border yesterday and this week will pack up everything ready for the big move…in a mere six days time. Times, they be busy.

Recently I traveled north to the little town of Coonalpyn, about half way to Adelaide. There I found a beautiful dryland garden and two passionate gardeners amongst the desert peas, the native grasses, the eucalypts and the drought hardy place they’d created to call home. I have the highest regard for gardeners of this variety, working with what they’ve got. The Daisy Patch must be breathtaking in Spring…

The images I captured are featured in the latest issue of RM Williams’ Outback magazine, in an article written by the lovely Gretel Sneath. I am getting back to my commercial photography roots with work like this, and it feels good. I will miss the Limestone Coast and the opportunities that have been thrown my way this past year whilst we lived here. I’m excited about future possibilities and doors that may open though.

Back to editing these weddings…and packing…and finding us somewhere to live…

What a lovely surprise – the Daisy Patch belongs to the parents of a friend of mine! Saw the article yesterday and was admiring the photo’s, now here they are! Beautifully captured, as with the other events shown here. Happy baby-growing!
